These needs or trends are followed by the market, i.e. manufacturers and sellers of accessories for children. Used diaper basket: what opinionis it worth it

You may wonder if a special diaper basket is another, unnecessary gadget that the mum and dad of the toddlers are persuaded to buy - hoping that they will not let their kids run out of anything. We often look for the answers whether a given product will work with a child in practice on parenting forums, and before choosing a specific brand or model, we can also check how it fares in publicly available rankings. When reading other parents' opinions about used diaper bins, consider that a woman not only during pregnancy, but also after childbirth, may perceive various smells in a specific way - especially unpleasant smells (and such can certainly include the smell of dirty nappies). Increasing difficulties with tolerating unpleasant odors may be an important factor in making a decision to purchase a diaper container (basket).

Diaper basket: when is it useful?

Using a diaper basket - as a solution to the problems with the smell of used disposable diapers - is especially worth considering when:

  • the toddler's room is located on a different floor (e.g. on the floor in the house),
  • only one parent takes care of the child,
  • Household members work a lot and spend the night away from home (e.g. they are on a business trip).

In these situations constantly taking out diapers with their contents, especially each one with more dirt, can be very tedious. Odors - not only in summer, but also with the heating on, warm and stuffy - spread very quickly. As a consequence, the unpleasant smell of used nappies hovers not only in the room where they are stored, even for several hours - before they end up in the trash outside the apartment or house.

Diaper basket: ranking

The rankings of diaper baskets are not crowded, due to the fact that not too many products of this type available on the market. This, and the fact that it is not a particularly complicated device, means that the interested parent or guardian can quickly and effortlessly create a ranking for their own use, allowing them to choose the best diaper basket. It is enough to bear in mind your needs and use the information and tips contained in this text.

Sam diaper basket it's not everything

Of course, it is worth looking around on the market and comparing the baskets, their size, tightness and method of closing, but you also have to remember about the inserts, i.e. bags. The container itself may cost little, but apart from it, we also need a large supply of bags inserted inside. Unfortunately, Ordinary rubbish bags do not always act as a barrier to odors, and then you need to invest in special bags for used diapers. The more of them we buy at once, the lower the unit cost, but it still means an additional item in the budget and may question the sense of buying a diaper basket.

The expert advises:

The spread of unpleasant odors may also not be prevented by wrapping each diaper - before throwing it into the trash - in plastic bags. It turns out that the porosity of the bags, into which used disposable diapers are often put (we take into account typical food, breakfast bags and disposable bags), cannot cope with odor particles, which are smaller and easily penetrate the foil.

Which diaper basket to choose?

Reviews of the baskets for used disposable diapers are surprisingly good, although the products have only been available on the market for a few years. You can choose a container with a tight lid, fitted with shaped gaskets and latches - we fill it up by putting more diapers inside. Unfortunately, each time the lid is opened, there may be an unpleasant odor around the basket. In another model of diaper basket available on the market, it is to help reduce the spread of smell of used hygiene products. bag with the entire contents is properly closed and attached to the container. The problem is that when throwing in more contaminated diapers, we have to open the bag, creating an unpleasant smell sensation each time. There is therefore no ideal solution, although additional costs may be avoided.

In order for the used diaper basket to do its job better, each package landing in a container should first be wrapped in a separate, more tight bag, tied by twist ties. Adding another used diaper will then not "release" an intense odor from the inside of the container.

Used diaper basket: an important rule

All parents of toddlers - regardless of whether they take advantage of special amenities or not - must remember that by basket for used nappies empty daily, as hygiene products contaminated with urine or faeces should not be kept at home for longer than XNUMX hours. In this type of waste, many germs multiply and accumulate, of which there should be as little as possible in the place where a small child is.

If we want to avoid the cost of additional bags, we should try to prepare a package with diapers, possibly tightly wrapped in several plastic bags, whenever we leave the house. This method has been working for many years and still has many supporters, without generating additional costs.
