• foldable transport trolley, the so-called an umbrella - intended for older children (from 1,5 years of age or later), rather for shorter distances or traveling;
• multifunctional models (2in1, 3in1 etc.) - most often a set with a gondola and a stroller, often also with a car seat.

Which stroller to choose at what age? 

The decision on which baby stroller to choose depends largely on the age of the toddler. From birth to about 6-7 months of age, the baby is transported in a pram with a gondola. This is what the first stroller for a baby should be like. After this period, the toddler usually starts to sit up on his own, becomes more and more mobile and curious about the surrounding world. He tries to look around himself, which is difficult in the gondola. These signs tell you that your baby is ready for a pushchair.

If your toddler is still unsupported when he is 6 or 7 months old, it is worth giving him a little more time. Do not force this position on him, as it may negatively affect the lumbar spine and promote posture defects.

A stroller is therefore a stroller for an infant, but an older one, for which sitting and sitting without support will not be a problem. If we are not sure whether the toddler will be comfortable in this position all the time during walks, the stroller allows you to set the backrest both in a sitting and lying position. Even if our child starts to sit down relatively late, a stroller will also be useful in toddlers.

The situation is different in the case of a folding umbrella, which should not be used as a baby stroller. You can start using the umbrella stroller only around 18 months of age or even a little later.

A stroller that grows with the child

If you want a universal solution that will serve for several years, the answer to the question "what kind of pram for a child" can be a multifunctional model. Multifunctional strollers are characterized by the fact that in addition to the gondola, they also have a stroller and a car seat. Such a solution will certainly be more universal, although usually more expensive. It may even turn out that the purchase of another stroller, e.g. an umbrella, will no longer be necessary.

However, it is important that all parts of the multifunction kit have good quality and appropriate technical parameters, and that the various variants of use ensure safety and comfort.

It happens that such a model works great at the beginning when we use a gondola, and after installing a walking insert, not necessarily, because at the time of purchasing a toddler stroller, this functionality was not so important to us.

Whate needs, such baby carriage 

The toddler's safety and comfort are essential, but the answer to the question of what kind of stroller for a child also depends on the needs and situation of the parents. How often, where and how will they transport the child? Will the main means of transport be the car or public transport? Will the stroller need to be carried up the stairs on a daily basis, or is it possible to use elevators?

In the case of frequent use of the car, it is worth considering a multifunctional model (with a seat), and when you need to carry the stroller up the stairs often, it is worth paying special attention to how much it will weigh - together with the child and the necessary accessories.
