Here are homemade ice creams for kids that not only taste good, but also nourish, and are also incredibly easy to make.

Ice cream for babies – since when and in what form?

Parents are increasingly looking for healthy alternatives to classic desserts, also in the diet of the youngest. So the question arises: is homemade ice cream for infants a good idea? Theoretically yes - healthy ice cream prepared on the basis of valuable ingredients (such as fruit, natural yoghurt, groats or breast milk) can be introduced from the beginning of expanding the diet, i.e. around the 6th month of life. In practice, however, due to the very low temperature of this delicacy, introducing it to the diet it is better to wait until about 7-8 months of age.

Homemade ice cream for babies should be treated as an addition to an afternoon snack or healthy dessert, not a main meal – it is best to serve it in small quantities: 1–2 teaspoons to start with, a maximum of 1–3 times a week. It is worth ensuring a simple composition and appropriate adaptation of the recipe to the child's age.

    For example:

🔹 Cow's dairy (e.g. milk, natural yogurt, kefir) can be safely used as an ingredient in homemade ice cream from the age of 6 months, but it is not recommended to give cow's milk to drink (as a separate drink) before the age of one year.

🔹 Nuts It is best to enter it in the form of smooth peanut butter 100%to minimize the risk of choking.

🔹 Honey should not be given to babies under 1 year of age..

Simple homemade ice cream for children, what to pay attention to when preparing it for a baby?

When preparing homemade desserts for the youngest, it is best to follow the rule: the fewer ingredients the better.
