Product description

LUPILU® Soft&Dry Pants are breathable panty-shaped diaper pants, providing comfort and effective protection for the child. Thanks to the use of absorbent channel technology, moisture is evenly distributed inside the absorbent insert, which accelerates absorption and prevents the diaper from sagging. The anatomical shape and thin absorbent insert with elastic band guarantee full freedom of movement.

LUPILU® Soft&Dry Pants feature double ruffles with elastic, a soft elastic waistband, and a self-adhesive roll-up strip for easy use. Multicolor prints and white non-woven fabric give them a child-friendly look.

LUPILU® Soft&Dry Pants diapers are available in sizes adapted to the child's weight:

size 5 (Junior) weight: from 12 kg to 17 kg;
size 6 (XL) weight: over 15 kg.

Scope of the Opinion

The aim of the study at the Institute of Mother and Child was to evaluate the product in terms of general, health and developmental safety of users. During the subsequent stages of reviewing, the safety of raw materials was checked primarily, including: through a detailed analysis of the qualitative and quantitative composition of the product.

The correctness of the age purpose and functionality of the product were verified, i.e. the practical application and the degree of implementation of the product's functional properties declared by the manufacturer, as well as the level of user satisfaction.

Study details

Stage I - Documentation assessment

The first stage of reviewing LUPILU® Soft&Dry Pants diapers confirmed the general and health safety of the product for the user group declared by the manufacturer, based on the documentation required from the manufacturer.

A detailed analysis of the product and the origin of raw materials was performed, including the results of tests from accredited laboratories confirming their safety. The authenticity of the attestations and certificates of analysis in the scope of the declared product characteristics was verified. All aspects affecting the final quality and safety of the product have been thoroughly analyzed. The documentation of labels and instructions for use was also assessed.

Stage II - Expert sensory evaluation

The subject of expert sensory evaluation were the product properties of utility and functional character influencing the user's developmental safety and suitability in everyday use.

The assessment was carried out on product samples by a team of field specialists, based on the knowledge and experience possessed by experts, current research results, guidelines of field consultants and recommendations of scientific societies as well as applicable legal provisions and subject regulations.

Overall assessment

The documentation confirms the general and health safety of the product. The raw materials of the reviewed diaper pants do not contain a fragrance composition or any of the most common allergens listed in Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009. The microbiological purity of the product is confirmed by the results of microbiological tests. Dermatological tests conducted with the participation of volunteers with sensitive skin showed no irritating or allergenic effect of nonwoven fabrics in direct contact with the child's skin. The product complies with the REACH regulation for hygiene products. The cellulose pulp for the production of diaper pants is subject to a bleaching process, which is carried out using the ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free) method, which allows to obtain a final product free of elemental chlorine. The content of bisphenol A, alkylphenols and ethoxylates, phthalates, pesticides, organotin derivatives, formaldehyde, dioxins, furans and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls as well as the concentration of cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury and antimony are within the permissible standard.

Stage III - Application testing

The aim of the third stage of the evaluation of LUPILU® Soft&Dry Pants was to confirm the safety of use and to assess the product properties declared by the manufacturer during functional tests.

The product was distributed for home use to 25 individuals from the Institute's research panel, primarily medical, scientific, and administrative staff. They were parents or guardians of infants and children qualified for the study based on expert assessment results and study criteria. Participants in the study were children within the designated weight range, aged 18 months to 3 years and 6 months (14 girls, 11 boys, along with their parents/guardians). At the end of the study period, users completed an electronic survey about the product's features, assigning ratings on a scale of 1 to 5 in six categories. The survey was supplemented by in-depth interviews with five randomly selected users, which expanded their opinions on the product.

The pants are nice, in pleasant colors, absorbent, do not press on the belly or thighs. They fit well, covering the entire bottom, so there was no possibility of leakage. The diaper holds, does not slip, absorbs well. It even lasted 10 hours at night without changing.
