The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool™ PH2 De-NOx is a combined air purifier and humidifier, designed to improve indoor air quality year-round – both during the heating season and summer. It uses a three-stage filtration system, including a HEPA H13 filter, a catalytic filter, and an enhanced K-Carbon carbon filter enriched with potassium carbonate , which removes approximately 50% more nitrogen dioxide than traditional carbon filters . This reduces particulate matter, allergens, and particulate matter, as well as volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde.

The integrated 5-liter water tank is sterilized with UV light, enabling long-lasting, hygienic humidification for up to 36 hours. An automatic descaling cycle helps maintain the water system's efficiency.

The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool™ PH2 De-NOx offers multiple operating modes, including auto and sleep mode , as well as adjustable airflow and gentle cooling. Control is via a remote control or mobile app, which displays air quality data and allows for scheduling and notifications when filters need to be replaced or water refilled.

Stage I - Documentation assessment

The first stage of reviewing the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool™ PH2 De-NOx air purifier and humidifier confirmed the general and health safety of the product for the user group declared by the manufacturer, based on the documentation required from the manufacturer.

A detailed analysis of the product and the origin of raw materials was made, including the results of tests from accredited laboratories confirming their safety. The authenticity of the attestations and certificates of analysis held by the company in terms of the declared product characteristics was verified. All aspects affecting the final quality and safety of the product have been thoroughly analysed. Documentation of labels and instructions for use was also assessed.

The nasal mucosa dries out in inappropriate conditions, becoming less resistant to any infections that enter our body this way. Both viruses and bacteria then have an "easy task" and catarrhal symptoms appear much faster in such cases. Air purifying devices with humidification function and air humidity control are especially useful during this period and help to take care of children's health. Clean air also means better sleep quality. A well-rested and rested body - well regenerated during a long sleep certainly defends itself better against infections and improves our functioning during the day.

The quality of the air we breathe is fundamental to health. Chemical compounds that are the most harmful to our body are generated mainly inside buildings - formaldehyde, benzene, VOCs, NO2, odors and pollutants from the atmospheric air - particulate matter PM. In addition, the atmosphere of apartments contains bacteria, viruses and allergens (allergens of mites, fur animals, mold spores, pollen). Polluted air in apartments has an adverse effect on the health of residents, and people with chronic respiratory diseases, children and allergy sufferers are particularly sensitive to its effects. The toxic and irritating effects of air pollution may cause symptoms suggestive of infections or allergies, such as runny nose, cough, conjunctivitis, itching, and neurotoxic symptoms, such as headaches, irritability, fatigue or impaired concentration. On the other hand, too low humidity in rooms causes dryness of the mucous membranes of the nose, conjunctiva, skin, and sore throat. Air purification using devices equipped with HEPA filters with very high efficiency and its hygienic humidification with bacteria-free water improves the microclimate of rooms and the well-being of household members, especially children, people with allergies and asthma.

Stage III - Application testing

The aim of the third stage of reviewing the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool™ PH2 De-NOx air purifier and humidifier was to confirm the safety of use and assess the product properties declared by the manufacturer during performance tests.

The product was distributed for home use to 30 individuals registered in the Institute's research panel, primarily medical personnel (53%), scientific staff, and administrative staff. They were parents or guardians of infants and children qualified for the study according to the expert assessment and study criteria. Pregnant women, infants, and children aged 2 months to 16 years, as well as adult caregivers, participated in the study. At the end of the study period, users completed an electronic survey about the product's features, assigning ratings on a scale of 1 to 5 in six categories. The survey was supplemented by in-depth interviews with five randomly selected users , which expanded their opinions on the product .

The product, unlike the previous purifier, has much more functions and thanks to that it is not a seasonal gadget, but a device that can be used all year round. I really like the display quality and animations. I was hugely surprised by the ability to run a deep cleaning cycle - I have already tested it and the great thing is that this treatment does not require the use of other dishes / containers - very brilliant on the part of the designers. In addition, the application deserves praise, because it greatly facilitates the use of the purifier and does not force you to constantly search for the remote control.

Believing in the parameters (before and after e.g. airing the room) that are displayed in the application, the device performs its function flawlessly. The very shape of the purifier is distinguished by its originality compared to other purifiers available on the market. I really appreciate the air humidification function, as well as the option of a breeze as an oscillation of air movement, it was a complete novelty for me. A device worth recommending - especially when there is a small child at home and you live in a large agglomeration or simply town with polluted air.

I live near Warsaw and the only air pollution detected in my area was at a moderate level. When it comes to functions, the only thing I would add is the possibility of an additional lock (parental control) both before turning on the deep cleaning on the device, as well as the security button against changing the parameters on the remote control attached to the device.

The purifier fully fulfills its purpose and proved effective during my son's upper respiratory tract infection – it not only cleaned but also humidified the air, which is very important to me during the heating season. In night mode, it operates very quietly, although when it detects pollution, the filtration sound becomes louder, but it doesn't wake you up at night. It also beautifully complements the interior design. The only downside is the rather short cord, but that's easily remedied.
