Product description

BIBS® Supreme symmetric teat is a ventilated baby soother that provides comfort and safety thanks to the oral part made of organic Hevea natural rubber or transparent medical silicone, resistant to high temperatures.

The oral part of the pacifier is symmetrically flattened, allowing the design to fit naturally into the baby's mouth regardless of how it is placed.

Openwork shield symmetrical pacifier BIBS® Supreme in the form of a polypropylene butterfly, it prevents irritation of the skin around the mouth and supports free breathing while sucking the pacifier.

The product is available in two sizes:

S – for babies from birth to 6 months of age;
M – for babies from 6 months of age.

Stage I - Documentation assessment

The first stage of product evaluation BIBS® Supreme symmetric teat confirmed the general and health safety of the product for the user group declared by the manufacturer, based on the documentation required from the manufacturer.

A detailed analysis of the product and the origin of raw materials was performed, including the results of tests from accredited laboratories confirming their safety. The authenticity of the attestations and certificates of analysis in the scope of the declared product characteristics was verified. All aspects affecting the final quality and safety of the product have been thoroughly analyzed. The documentation of labels and instructions for use was also assessed.

Stage II - Expert sensory evaluation

The subject of expert sensory evaluation were the product properties of utility and functional character influencing the user's developmental safety and suitability in everyday use.

The assessment was carried out on product samples by a team of field specialists, based on the knowledge and experience possessed by experts, current research results, guidelines of field consultants and recommendations of scientific societies as well as applicable legal provisions and subject regulations.

The pacifiers tested are shaped like a breast, are soft and designed in a way that is least harmful to jaw development. In contrast, the thumb is hard, does not resemble a breast in any way, which is why sucking it can have much more negative consequences. Scientific studies have also shown that sucking a pacifier is associated with a reduced risk of cot death (SIDS).

Aesthetic pacifier, in a pleasant natural color. The oral part of the pacifier is made of rubber, i.e. natural material, which can be considered an advantage. The design of the external part of the pacifier with ventilation holes provides a smaller surface of adhesion to the skin around the baby's mouth, which reduces the risk of irritation and helps in free breathing during sucking. The suction tip is anatomically similar to the shape of the breast nipple. It seems soft and flexible to the touch. It requires regular replacement every 30 days due to the tendency to stretch and "swell", which may make it unsuitable, by changing its size. Despite the difficulties in washing, the natural material and functionality of the pacifier are its great advantages.

Stage III - Application testing

The purpose of the third stage of product evaluation was the confirmation of the safety of use and the assessment of the product properties declared by the manufacturer during operational tests.

The product for use at home was received by 20 people, mainly from the medical, scientific and administrative staff of the Institute, registered in the research panel of the Institute, who are caregivers of infants and children, in accordance with its intended use and the criteria of the study. 17 fully completed questionnaires regarding dzieci w century od 28. dnia life do 18 miesięcy (9 boys 8 little girls). The latex part changes shape slightly, but this is normal, because it is a raw material that is destroyed by saliva. It needs to be changed more often, but 4 weeks is the maximum time of use.

Hania accepted the new pacifier almost immediately 😊 We had no trouble getting used to it – she happily took it from the start and calmed down very quickly. It's clearly comfortable and well-fitting for her, as it didn't fall out of her mouth and she used it much more calmly than with some of her previous pacifiers. The soft material and shape of the pacifier were definitely a big plus – they seemed very comfortable for Hania. The pacifier also looks aesthetically pleasing 😊 We got a light beige color, so it matched our color scheme perfectly 😅 The only thing I missed was a chain holder. With a small child, it's very practical, and without it, we often lost the pacifier 🤣

So it's probably not that this particular pacifier doesn't suit him, but that he simply doesn't want to suck on it at all. The pacifier is nice, looks aesthetically pleasing, and is easy to clean. Although I initially wondered if the slits in the shield would collect dirt, but that didn't happen. It's also softer than other pacifiers.
