Hugup is a product intended for women in the third trimester of pregnancy , in whom as pregnancy progresses, the load on the lumbar spine and pelvis increases, which may be associated with discomfort or pain in this area.

The product consists of an elastic top and a belt running through special tunnels, designed to evenly distribute the load resulting from the changing weight and center of gravity of the body during pregnancy – from the lumbar spine and pelvis to a larger area of the torso . This design allows for adjustment to the changing body shape during pregnancy and can support proper posture and mobility , as well as help alleviate discomfort experienced during pregnancy, including in the lumbar and pelvic areas (e.g., pain in the pubic symphysis, groin, or a feeling of a "heavier" belly).

Hugup is made of flexible, breathable fabric . It can be used during both first and subsequent pregnancies.

The purpose of issuing opinions at the Institute of Mother and Child is to assess the product in terms of general safety, health and development of users.

During subsequent stages of the evaluation process, the safety of the raw materials used in the product is primarily verified, including through a detailed analysis of the product's qualitative composition. Users

Product samples were provided to pregnant women from the Institute of Mother and Child's research panel, in accordance with the product's intended use and study criteria. Forty-two fully completed product use surveys were included in the final analysis.

Pregnant women in their 30th-37th week of pregnancy were qualified to participate in the study.

Stage I - Documentation assessment

During the first stage of testing of Hugup functional support clothing for pregnant women (in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL), the general and health safety of the product was confirmed for the age group of users declared by the manufacturer based on the assessment of the documentation required from the manufacturer.

A detailed analysis of the product's qualitative composition and the origin of raw materials was conducted, including test results from accredited laboratories confirming the safety of the ingredients used. The validity of the company's certifications and certificates of analysis regarding the declared product characteristics was verified. All aspects affecting the final product quality and safety were thoroughly analyzed.

Stage II - Expert sensory evaluation

The subject of expert sensory evaluation were the functional and utility properties of the product affecting health and development safety as well as suitability for everyday use.

The evaluation was carried out on the basis of samples of the product prototype during consultations with a team of field specialists, based on the knowledge and experience of the experts, guidelines from field consultants and recommendations of scientific societies.

Stage III - Application research

The aim of the third stage of reviewing Hugup functional support clothing for pregnant women (in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL) was to confirm the safety of use and to assess the product properties declared by the manufacturer during functional tests.

Test technique : home use test.

Type of research tool : survey questionnaire with open and closed questions and an interview on functional values.

Product samples were administered to a total of 42 pregnant women ( pregnant women in their 30th to 37th week of pregnancy) from the Institute's research panel, in accordance with the product's intended use and study criteria. The participants reported no chronic illnesses. During interviews, the subjects reported discomfort in the spine and/or pelvis, pubic symphysis, groin, and a feeling of significant abdominal heaviness. Prior to the study, none of the participants had used products for similar purposes.

Study participants used the product as intended for 14 to 60 days.

HUGUP was typically worn 4 to 7 times a week, usually 1 to 3 times a day, for 2 to 10 hours, in some cases all day.

The selection of the product size was based on measurements taken in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines (dimensions: hips, bust).
