What does the assessment process look like at the Institute of Mother and Child?

Expert documentation analysis

We thoroughly review and analyze all product documentation. We want to know literally everything about it! Experts confirm the authenticity of certificates and analyze the production process, supply chain, packaging, and everything that affects the final quality and safety of the product. The documents must include information on:

  • compliance with standards and applicable law,
  • quality and origin of raw materials,
  • the production process,
  • the quality of the finished product.

We pay particular attention to product innovation and ensure that its production is conducted in accordance with sustainable development principles. We value companies that support others by engaging in social responsibility (CSR) activities. We frequently conduct factory visits to personally inspect production conditions and ensure that the product meets the highest quality standards.

At this stage, the experts move on to practical activities and evaluate the product organoleptically. Our attention focuses on its functional properties, such as age-appropriateness, workmanship, durability, usability, taste, etc., as well as its suitability for everyday use. The label and instructions for use are also assessed.

This is the next stage of practical work, but this time the product reaches its target users. These are primarily nurses, midwives, and doctors at the Institute, along with their children. The goal of this stage is to confirm and evaluate the manufacturer's declared product properties in real-world conditions. We collect participant feedback through electronic surveys and in-depth interviews.

The results of the review process are presented in a report detailing the scope and methodology of the study at each stage. Each Positive Opinion is issued with a unique number and is valid for three years. Products with a Positive Opinion are marked with this number or the Institute's logo on the packaging and are subject to constant monitoring during this time. We also review and investigate all parental concerns regarding the reviewed products.
