Summer is associated with holiday time, trips, long summer evenings, but also high air temperatures that can last for a long time. Hot weather is often associated with the fact that the humidity of the air decreases, and this contributes to dry indoor air. This, in turn, can result in unpleasant health ailments, as well as an understandable decrease in well-being.

The above-mentioned reasons make many of us look for effective ways to deal with the heat. Ways that will effectively humidify the air in the rooms. This is important because hot days are particularly troublesome for pregnant women, the elderly and small children. We invite you to read the article in which we suggest how to deal with the heat.

How to deal with heat: high temperature and air humidity

With the advent of the first summer days, along with the euphoria associated with the arrival of the summer period, a familiar problem usually returns - high temperatures.

The expert advises:

Hot days, especially when the thermometer shows well over 30 degrees, are conducive to dehydration of the body, weakening the condition of the skin, which becomes dry, and drying of the mucous membranes (which can result in dry eyes and unpleasant dryness in the mouth). As a consequence, pollutants and microorganisms easily enter the respiratory tract.

In the fight against the unpleasant effects of heat for our body, the aspect of dry air in the rooms where we stay does not help. You should be aware that not only in winter, during the heating season, we face this problem. In the summer, the sun's rays enter our homes, heat the interiors, and as a result, the level of air humidity in them decreases. This can result in poorer sleep quality or poor concentration.

On hot, windy days, the amount of water vapor in the air can drop even below 30% - i.e. below the minimum value indicated for well-being.

How else to deal with the heat: home remedies for heat

In the fight against the heat, home methods can also help us, among which frequent washing, hanging up damp towels, or supplying with potted plants.

We also present some important tips that we should especially remember during the summer:

  • Limit physical activity in the afternoon – that is, when it is hottest. Plan all activities that require more effort for the late afternoon or morning - when the temperature outside is not so high;

We cannot allow such a state to happen - so remember - appropriate clothing - light airy clothes made of natural fabrics, headgear, protective glasses, protection with drinks - our body needs more fluid on such days to function properly. In hot weather, it is also worth adjusting your diet to them. Easily digestible diet rich in fruits and vegetables with high sodium and potassium content, cooler, slightly salted meals such as multi-ingredient salads, cold soups, fruit cocktails.
