    When early autumn resembles summer, with temperatures well above 10 degrees Celsius, and sometimes even reaching 20 degrees - there is no need to dress a newborn in a thick overalls yet. However, warmer outerwear (e.g. a hooded sweatshirt) and an additional blanket will definitely come in handy.  

    How to dress a newborn baby in winter at home?

    The optimal temperature for a newborn baby in the house or apartment is around 18-22 C. The arrival of autumn or even winter does not automatically mean the need to heat up the apartments and set the radiators to high or even maximum power.. Too high a temperature in the rooms where we live on a daily basis is not good for adults or children.

    In the first weeks of a child's life, let's accept rule of one more layer of clothing. This means that if a mother wears a long-sleeved blouse, she can prepare a short-sleeved bodysuit and a long-sleeved unbuttoned romper for the baby. Over time, when the baby starts to be more active, i.e. crawls, crawls - the additional layer can be omitted.

    How to dress an infant for a winter walk?

    Winters can be different - with positive temperatures and bitter frost. Answer the question, how to dress a newborn baby and a younger baby for a walk in winter, depends outside temperature, possible rainfall and the presence of wind, and in the case of a slightly older toddler - also on the activity that he then takes.

    Newborn and infant for a walk in winter it is convenient dress in a sleeping bag or overalls – one-piece, with covered feet, it works well both when lying in a gondola and when sitting in a stroller. It is definitely better and more comfortable than a jacket and pants separately. It will neither slip nor roll up, and it is easier to put on, fasten or unfasten along the entire length. Most of the overalls available on the market have shoes and gloves sewn on. However, if our model does not have them, we can easily buy both separately.

    It is worth getting two overalls - a lighter one for use at higher temperatures (approx. 5-10 degrees C) and a warmer one, intended for cooler (frosty) days.

    As underwear, the best choice is a long-sleeved body made of natural, pleasant to the skin, breathable materials. It won't curl like it does with baby t-shirts, so your backs stay well covered. Remember to fall and winter to put on the baby "onion" - in bodysuits, rompers, a romper, and when it is very cold (frosty or very windy) - additionally also in tights. It is also good to have a blanket at hand - if necessary, you can cover the child in the stroller with it, thus providing better insulation.

    How do I know if my baby is too cold or too hot? Cold hands or forehead do not necessarily mean that you are cold. It's best to check the temperature on the back of the neck - if it's very warm or damp with sweat, your little one is most likely too hot. Overheating is dangerous and can lead to infection.

    There is no one universal recipe for how to dress a newborn in autumn or winter. Lthe number of layers must be adjusted each time to the temperature and activity of the toddler. If he moves a lot, he will be warmer than a baby who sleeps in a pram or cot.

    The good news, however, is that by following the rules described above and not neglecting going out with your toddler - even in bad weather - you can get used to it quickly and easily decide how to dress a newborn and infant in winter - both a walkAnd at home.
