Homemade SPA during pregnancy: bathing in the tub
How about a hot bath? You can smile at the very thought, evoking nice associations. However, you must bear in mind that during pregnancy, the temperature of the bath water is really important. Big enough to forget about bathing in hot water for now.
All because too hot water can increase the temperature (overheating) of the woman's body or cause fainting. At this point, it may be dangerous for you and may even create a risk for your pregnancy.
Take care of the correct water temperature
However, this does not mean that you must definitely give up bathing in the bathtub. You can still arrange a substitute for a SPA during pregnancy by preparing such a bath. It is important that the water temperature is not too high. In practice, this means that it should be close to our body temperature, i.e. oscillate between 36 and a maximum of 38 degrees. Also, remember not to go from extreme to extreme. Therefore, do not pour too cold water into the bathtub, because you can catch a cold.
The best solution is to check the water temperature by measuring it with a bath thermometer. In time, it may be useful also for measuring the temperature of the bath water for your little one. Not so precise, but also a good way, is to check the water temperature with your elbow. The soft skin on this area of the body should help you determine if the water is adequate.
On hot days, when you want to cool down, bathing can bring you great relief. Then, the optimal water temperature may be a few degrees lower than body temperature (around 32 degrees).
Soap or emollient
When the water is ready, you should think about a bath product. Basically, you don't need to replace your current cosmetics unless they sensitize you and don't irritate your skin. However, there may be times when you need to take into account that currently your favorite bath gel, it may smell too intense. Therefore, make sure that you can use it before the planned bath. You can consider changing your traditional soap to an emollient, which is a gentler moisturizing and nourishing product.
Don't take too long a bath
Also, too long a bath may cause the entire procedure to have the opposite effect to the intended one. Therefore, try to keep your bathing time under 15 minutes. After a long time, instead of feeling relaxed and relaxed, you may feel tired and weary.
