A graduate of the Medical Academy in Warsaw, which she graduated in 1988. In addition, Dr. Karney completed postgraduate studies in the field of management of health care organizations in 2013.
At the Institute of Mother and Child, Ms Alicja Karney is the Deputy Director for Clinical Affairs and the Head of the One-Day Hospitalization Department and the IMiD Admission Room.
In addition to her strictly professional achievements, she is also the author of many medical publications in magazines and guides for parents, where she speaks on topics directly related to her professional interests. These mainly include the broadly understood area of pediatrics - from the time a child is born - until he or she reaches adulthood. Ms. Alicja Karney's particular area of interest is the issue of eating disorders, which includes, among others, obesity. Moreover, apart from those mentioned above, she is also interested in issues related to atopic dermatitis, allergy and vacinology.
Due to the professional interests presented above, Ms. Alicja Karney has completed numerous courses, including: in the field of: allergology and vaccinology. Additionally, by participating in courses, she expands her knowledge in the areas of immunology and pediatrics. Her activity in the scientific field also includes participation in conferences - both domestic and foreign.
Privately, Mrs. Alicja Karney is the mother of an adult daughter and the partner of an artist - sculptor. In her free time, she most often and most enjoys traveling. Mrs. Alicja also likes reading books, especially biographies and crime stories. In addition, she is passionate about art, which she admires by visiting galleries and museums around the world.
