Every year, with the onset of winter, the question of what to do with children during holidays and where to go with children during holidays returns. The question becomes even more difficult if we are wondering where to go with a baby. Of course, usually the best solution would be a joint trip, e.g. skiing in the mountains, visiting family, or traveling to warmer corners of the globe. Unfortunately, for various reasons, this is not always possible.

So how to organize winter holidays for children so that, despite spending them in the place of residence, they are still interesting and full of impressions, and the children are rested and satisfied after the end? Here are some of our suggestions for holidays with a child in the city.

Board games are always up to date

Board games made a comeback a few years ago and are very popular among children and adults. Especially in a situation where there are not many options where it is worth going with a child, The selection of board games seems to be a great solution for spending time together with the whole family.

The level of difficulty of the games is extremely varied - from the popular "Chinaman", which already several years old children can successfully play, to more complex, tactical games.

Let's not forget about such children's "classics" as chess pieces or dominoes. They are very simple and will please all household members. At the end of the tournament, the winners can be presented with diplomas.

Solving puzzles: a patent for holidays with a child

You can't forget about puzzles. When spending holidays with your child in the city, it is worth reaching for toys that will not only entertain your child, but also develop them. The puzzles are divided into levels of difficulty, which we adjust to the age and skills of the child.

Proper selection of this form of entertainment will not discourage the child, and even give him satisfaction from the arrangement. While arranging puzzles, children develop hand dexterity, which is very important especially in the first school years. Puzzles also improve:

  • observation;
  • memory;
  • concentration.

In addition, the child becomes more patient i relentless. Puzzles are primarily colors, and therefore also learning them.

Winter holidays: time to create artistic works of art

When planning holidays with children, no matter where we will be during the holidays, we must remember to provide them with a variety of time. Nothing can compare to here performing manual activities.

All art works will develop manual dexterity, creativity and ingenuity of children. It is enough to stock up on colored papers, crayons, paints, markers to create extraordinary works of art. Of course, the older our child is, the more demanding accessories we can choose, such as: scissors, beads, ribbons. Together during the holidays with your child, you can create a beautiful collection of works of art, and then hang it in our apartment. This will give children a lot of joy and satisfaction.

Do you know your neighborhood?

Let's ask ourselves how well we know our city, would we like to see something else, where is it worth going with the child not only for the weekend? We don't always have to go somewhere far to explore new places. Perhaps in the neighborhood we have interesting attractions and monuments of architecture or nature, which we have not seen yet, although they are next to us.

It is worth awakening the explorer in yourself and instilling this sense in our children. Visiting interesting places together or spending time in an active way, and then talking about it, can be an interesting idea for holidays - both for children and adults. It is worth going for such a tour in the middle of the week, because there can be much less people, where on the weekend there is generally more traffic and a larger crowd.

Forest adventures - where is it worth going with your child?

Contact with nature has a soothing effect on everyone, and for children it can also be a great field for observation. The forest is an ideal place where children have a unique opportunity to commune with nature during the holidays. It is also a good idea to spend your free time, where you can go with a baby for the weekend. When going for a long walk in the forest at this time of year, remember to take with you lunch - thermoses with tea and sandwiches. The preparation itself will be exciting.

In the forest, you can look for traces of animals, observe what happens to trees and other plants during the winter. Maybe we will wake up a real researcher in the child?

Day camps and winter camps for children - the most popular entertainment for winter holidays for children

Day camps are always a great idea for winter holidays for children. Before enrolling your child for the winter camp, you should familiarize yourself with the rules and requirements so that the trip takes place safely. There are many types of organized day camps, starting from those supporting learning a foreign language, through sports, computer, dance, art, etc. - the choice can be really big. So if our child can qualify as a participant in this form of winter holidays, it is worth considering his participation. The child will certainly have an interesting time, and we will be able to work calmly without worrying about what he is doing.

Winter holidays last much longer than the weekend, so parents should keep in mind that schedule them well in advance. There can be much more ideas for spending time together, no matter where we are during the holidays. We just need to move our heads a bit, strain our imagination, and sometimes go back to our childhood years.

When organizing free time for winter holidays for children, it is worth uniting forces. If our child has a friend whose parents we know well, let's try to communicate and organize alternate care. Thanks to this, we will gain time for quiet work or dealing with urgent matters, if necessary, or resting at home after intense days with children.
